POTD: GAMBIT FEST
two pieces today. gambitmania. some old pieces from convention sketches. the first one is from the mind of john bamber, turning marvel heroes into good ol' westerns. white queen in the background. second piece inspired by the x-men origins: wolverine scene when gambit floats the card with energy. there were SOME good concepts out of the movie.

SOTW: COWBOYFUSION
i hadn't drawn a western piece in a long while. so thought i'd try it with this piece and it all started off well. but suddenly, as i was inking this, it started metamorphosing into a futuristic apocalyptic final fantasy-ish cowboy character with big guns and swords. ah well. anyways, here's my first sketch of the week.

POTD: HULK SMASH
a cover piece from spidey UK issue #170. this was done just before but was on the shelves when the edward norton hulk movie came out. to cross promote with the movie. it was fun to draw debries. like drawing them. but i'm sure inker kris and colourist jason/kat hated working on them. muchos headache. it's my way of disguising chaos and confusion for detailing.
POTD: MINUTE
as in small. ant-man small. ahh, the english language. anyways, a completely different type of style for this sequential page from an issue of the marvel heroes UK comic. written by the talented al ewing, i just felt it needed a bit more of a light hearted approach. so i adopted an animated type style for all the macho posturing ant-man will be doing in the story. lucky for me i had already previously worked on batman strikes which i had to adapt my style to suit the book and character designs of jeff matsuda. so the style change was a cinch.
